We are officially in the final stages of seeing if the rule of law no longer applies in any capacity.

As if there ever was a rule of law in America. Just ask the Native Americans of the past or black people. The constitution was just a sham.

Note that I said "in any capacity". The constitution was always applied selectively, then twisted and distorted so that those in power could dance around accountability to it. The civil war was a result of accountability finally being enforced, and in that regard the rule of law took a turn towards actually applying to "We the people". The territory we are entering now is dropping the pretense and sending us into full blown Nazi America where we can't even attempt to hold somebody to the words written on it.

Yeah the US is now illegally shipping people off into a foreign gulag for no reason and without any due process, then playing dumb when they get caught. A truly sickening moral catastrophe and assault against basic human rights and the rule of law.

At least they will be honest when they drop the pretense. Many people are still foolishly optimistic about the American system.

I am prepared to stand my ground against tyranny. I feel it my duty as an American and I'm already willing to die, so this doesn't change much for me other than making every other normie finally wake up to what I've seen coming for a while now. At least now I suppose I may be able to find some help.

Welp folks:

We're officially here, the American government is now officially stating that they have no duty to return wrongfully deported citizens, and further they want to expand the scope of who they can deport to include "home-grown" criminals. This basically means that they can make up crimes and deport anybody to a concentration camp. The American experiment is over, and the constitution has been destroyed.

Not being very attached to life is a real asset if you need to take on the system. I speak from experience.

There's a lot of chatter on Bluesky regarding today. A few Democrats have already been preparing their responses, but ultimately unless Republicans start defecting (unlikely), there's no procedural force that can compel the administration into knocking this shit off. We shall see what happens in the next couple days if the Legislative and Judicial will doing fucking ANYTHING to straight up force the Executive to act.

How I see it, the entire Trump administration needs to be impeached and arrested immediately, then the new administration must follow every court order that was given and strong-arm Bukele into giving back who we wrongfully sent. Afterwards we can start rolling back every guardrail that Trump destroyed and follow that with an outright Nuremberg-style trials and try this cabinet as outright traitors to the nation.

I honestly don't see anything positive happening. I sense there will be riots, and then, the eventual martial law declaration. It's only a matter of time. Democracy has already died in broad daylight.

Quite frankly if even a single rioter can kill Trump, that might be enough to scare the rest even with martial law. Their god-king will be dead, and they will remember that they can die all the same. They've made peaceful reform impossible, not violent revolution is inevitable.

The problem with killing the king of idiots is that you'll turn him into a martyr for enraged idiots to worship. It's a lose-lose scenario, but somehow life has a way of making things to come EVEN WORSE.

I have considered that possibility, but really what it comes down to is where the military will fall. Sadly, they seem pretty pro-maga, but the tides have been changing due to the sheer amount of shafting this administration has been giving veterans. Realistically, only about a third of this country is diehard maga, and barely half of those people are actually capable of combat. It's stacked against them numbers wise, but arms-wise the extremist maga crowd can do serious damage by itself.

This is why I personally have always hated the liberal, and to a lesser degree leftist position of being anti-gun as it's essentially cripple to counter to the American militia movement that arose post-Ruby Ridge. In this regard as well I have noticed a strong shift away from that position as both groups are seeing the writing on the wall. This nation will devolve into civil war before it has a chance to become a full dictatorship.

I used to be anti-gun and normally I would be, but in situations like this I remember that my biological father was an ideologist for a left-wing guerilla group and their fighting eventually led to the adoption of a new constitution (one that FINALLY included natives as full citizens and didn't declare this country as a Catholic nation). Sadly the army plays a huge role in situations like this and most military forces in the world right now aren't like those in the independence wars that shaped our modern states, they're mostly right-wing reactionary forces with conservative values and the government-funded weapons to defend them even if said defense means hurting their fellow citizens.

It's a shame the world is coming to this. There's a quote I love by one of my country's founding fathers, "Guns have given us independence, but only laws will give us freedom", and looking at it in the context of our world today means that our laws failed, the democratic dream of the enlightenment failed. We're back to the civil wars, to us vs. them, homo hominis lupus ist, and fuck everything that for a moment made us dream we could live in peace with equal conditions and opportunities for everyone. Better than a dictatorship, sure, but it's never a good thing when innocents die...and they always do.

Reform is their greatest weapon, they are saving it for when people do legitimately rise up. There won't be a revolution in the US. The best that we can hope for is balkanization.

That's my thinking as well. The US will go into civil war, outside nations will want a piece of the pie, WW3 begins, and if the planet isn't destroyed the US will no longer be united.

This makes me nervous to travel overseas or to neighboring countries. I love to travel but seeing as they're detaining their own citizens at the borders I'm very afraid of being detained. I'm afraid of being deported from the country I belong to… what a joke the world has become.

I will not defend the Democratic party, as they're also bought out by capital interest. However, there's a world of differance between "woke media" and people getting literally gulaged. The middle had their chance to take an alternative path, but their priorities lied more in either ignoring the problem entirely, or ignorantly choosing a side based on surface level slogans.

Not voting for the RNC would be a good start, then we can move on to whipping the DNC into behaving themselves. I have plenty of issues with the Democratic party (special interest groups buying them out, their anti-gun stances, their overly-relaxed attitude on crime, doing FUCK ALL to corral the current administration, etc), but I find them easier to work with than Republicans. A major issue we have is that the center is extremely easy to sway, and the GOP has mastered swaying mouthbreathers with catchy slogans.

This recent election has pretty much highlighted how the median voter has no idea what they hell they are voting for, and now everybody has their jaw on the floor when the open fascist does fascist things. Once again, I am not a cheerleader for the Dems, but dear lord, anybody who is surprised at what's going on right now was clearly not paying attention. The conservatives outright laid every last bit of it out within Project 2025, and I did my best to warn those I knew about it, but was often met with "that'll never happen".
