So it came to my attention that some Discord servers that were created by members of this community aren't regulated and monitored properly. And this has been picked up by opponents of this forum. For example, this Anonymous account ordered from Wish has posted this screenshot here and I just want to address some things quickly and clarify our position.
There is no "sanctionedsuicide" Discord server as this person has claimed. There is currently no official server that's run by staff. There are countless of different community Discord servers for different purposes, run by members of the community but they do not represent the forum. Most of them don't even have much to do with the theme of this forum, people use it as another place to hang out and make friends with people from the community. Some are poorly moderated, sadly, and some are well regulated and some have even staff presence in them to ensure all SaSu rules are followed.
But the claim that this is the sanctionedsuicide Discord server as it's been framed here is 100% wrong. And I think I'm speaking for everyone in my team when I say that we don't condone the conduct that's been captured in that screenshot and we will take action to make sure this server will implement better moderation in the future and verify if members have an account on this forum. If people act toxic and encourage suicide, they're most likely not regular SaSu members but trolls who came into this forum to invade this community for malicious intentions. They exist, we have banned them in the past. Sadly, our community is a target for these people. But to pretend that these singular instances, where people take advantage of this community and violate the rules, speak for the entire community or are in any way representative of the broader mindset of the people in this forum or what we stand for is bad faith and dishonest. I hope I made this abundantly clear.
We cannot control who makes Discord servers and it's difficult to monitor what happens in them without infringing on people's privacy and freedom. But we have taken a stronger stance against them recently and we have focused more of our attention to this issue, removing any advertisments for these places if they do not fulfill our standards of moderation. That's why I have posted this thread a few months ago, encouraging the community to report toxic members and problematic Discord servers to staff. I hope this statement clears up our position on this topic.
Thank you.
