• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Hello everyone.

I've been wondering one thing for quite some time now, and it might be a very obvious question, but I hope I can count with your help.

Everyone (everywhere, or seemingly everywhere I guess) only talks about the knot used for actually hanging, but what about the other knot? The one you use for getting the rope (or what you use for hanging, I think 'ligature' is the word) in suspension. Or is there something I'm misunderstanding about this method? From my understanding, you tie the knot from where you'll hang, but you also tie another knot to keep the ligature in suspension. Otherwise, there wouldn't be any force that could somehow kill you (depending exactly on what you decide to do). It really calls my attention that no one mentions anything about this. If you search about the hanging method, everything's about either how to tie the noose from where you'll hang, about how it kills you, about the different ways to do it (partial, full, etc.), and such things. Am I misunderstanding something?

On the other hand, I've been reading in this site about hanging (I still haven't done that much research, but know the basics), and options seem to be partial and full, short and long drop. For what I read, hangman's noose is only used for long drop method. Why is that? (I know very little about physics, by the way... but any help will be hugely appreciated). And why do most people choose partial? Is it because it's less painful, because it has a higher success rate, or is there another reason?

Lastly, about the suspension point (where you tie the second knot, the one I asked about, well, in case I understand the method right), are there any advices about which one to choose?

Thanks a lot for reading. I'll appreciate any bit of help, opinion, comment, etc.
