Discussion Absorbing energies

I've been feeling really depressed and sad last week, and I'm working in a retirement home. Usually I know what is the trigger of those episodes but not this time. My friends have a hunch that I'm absorbing the energy from the retirement home, or maybe from the people in it. Do you guys think it's possible?
