ב''ה,
Pardon the Hebrew, personal thing.
Far be it from me to cheer anyone up, because learned the hard way in USA that's just 'creating more competition,' and, uh, "/s" or not we're all here.
Existential problems, can't help with, got my own. But, can't find the post that inspired joining and writing this, so as far as not being needlessly more miserable while we're here:
If you're keeping a vegan or vegetarian diet, or just not eating a lot of meat, throw in a few grams of chlorella. Maybe some vitamin B6 with that or one of those giant B-50 vitamins.
On vegetarian diets it's hard to get sufficient guanine. Guanine plays a weird unexpected role in making your neurotransmitters. You can go down the hole of MTHFR genetics (particularly if strictly vegetarian and 2 to 4 grams chlorella doesn't do anything) or you can just know vegetarian diets are doomed to be low in guanine and chlorella is the best source, while meat has a fair bit enough that omnivores don't see the problem as much.
Combine this with the sort of reasons people go vegetarian, already upset at the cruelties of the world, and if not shoring up the nutrition you're going to feel worse, "ask me how I know," did a good 10 years like that.
It's not common knowledge yet, but if you're vegetarian or vegan and feeling awful this is like telling someone with scurvy bummed out their teeth are falling out to get some vitamin C. Won't fix everything about life but at least I can solve this extra problem for you if it works.
If you're really gout prone there's a chance the purines will flare up gout, figure out what works, but if you didn't know this was a thing, some people somehow push through it or aren't that affected but a huge ton of non meat eaters will probably notice some benefits.
If you're medicated I might even suggest going slow or bracing yourself because it can be pretty dramatic if this is your problem. Or to be direct, combining stimulants with dysphoria only to make them work better and further tweak y'all down on your dysphoria isn't a fun ride, consider that a warning if you're really that low on this nutrition. If you're not doing any of that, maybe addressing the need for guanine via chlorella at least resolves some brain fog and fatigue and physical depression.
Makes health care seem further worthless that this is not a known thing about these diets even if it's fairly known, and now the literature is a bit harder to find. So you might have to take my word for it, but watching anyone else suffer unnecessarily bums me out, so hope whoever needs to know this sees it and it's not too off-topic for a first post.
TL;DR, maybe life sucks anyway but maybe this can take some misery away for vegans.
