Alone, depressed, failure

I'm 41 years old and feel so alone. No friends, no hope. I was laid off from my job because of covid now unemployed. I feel like my life has been a waste, I'm a complete failure. Wife doesn't understand me, I do love my kids though. I have no friends at all. Thought about suicide many times. Only thing that keeps me going is my kids.

You are not alone in that sense.

You have kids that is nice. Children are lovely and so adorable . I dont even want kids myself:)
How old are your kids?

I grew up with no father( he was never interested in me and left my mum when she was pregnant with me )
I spent most of my life always wondering who he was, where is etc but eventually stopped wondering.
I was angry at times my dad was never around.

Seeing my mum struggle and work to hard to provide for us was difficult

I hope things work out for you. What country are you based in.
All i want is to say
We Children need our parents even though we dont always show it. No matter how much we age we are always going need our parents to guide us throughout life in this weird world we live in.

If you end your life you will miss out so much on your children growing up and all their achievements.

In the UK sucide is biggest killer of men . Men your age are the most at risk of sucide

The core of who I am is a positive and carefree person which makes this even harder, extrovert as well and love being around people.

You're not alone. You have a wife and two children. Why did you decide to get children when you don't get along with your wife? Just because? Be that as it may. If you kill yourself you will cause your children life-long trauma and I don't think they deserve that as they obviously had no say when they were brought into this world by you.

I'm 43 and single mum. I do have some friends, but I sometimes miss a partner. I have no job, cause I still struggle with pain after an accident. I have a really complicated chronic ill mum, and her needs for the time being, keeps my thoughts occupied. My biggest problem is that I live for others, helping everybody else but myself. This forum is where I find comfort and peace when all my darkest thoughts comes over me. I think of people in here as my friends, and you can do it too.
