  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I have been on antidepressants for the last month and every second of every day I think of suicide however I ran out of tablets 4 days ago and haven't got anymore yet as I just moved house and can't find my prescription, the last 4 days have made me feel way better, still not felling better but not thinking of suicide as much with the last four days. Should I go get a new prescription or just stay off them for a while?.. my doctor said to make sure I finish out the course of tablets when he gave it to me originally but not so sure anymore

I have heard actually that anti-depressants give "lessen anxiety"/give you the motivation to kill yourself and that's why it's associated with a high suicide rate in teens. I was prescribed Prozac (fluoxetine) when I was 17 and I can say that it first gave me overconfidence (or maybe that was a placebo) to talk to a random girl who I only knew because I heard her name and searched her up on Facebook. I totally embarassed myself but didn't feel much at it at that time ironically.

The antipsychotic, Abilify (aripriprazole) made me less violent but also sadder, that's why I was prescribed Prozac. Anti-depressants apparently don't make you more suicidal but give you a greater motivation

Antidepressants can cause suicidal behaviour, especially if those medicaments are given to young people. If you look for example at Cymbalta/Duloxetin the FDA says the the risk of suicide in comparison to people who don't use this antidepressant is nearly doubled.

Can't you see your doctor and tell him you are having an adverse reaction? ADs need to be tapered off and shouldn't be quit cold turkey

No idea how about other pills, but venlafaxine for instance have a disclaimer on receipt that it is "making you more suicidal at the beginning of therapy" what an irony.

I've been on several different meds and never noticed a difference, besides nausea for, like, the first day taking them. Is innate drug resistance really a thing?

I kind of wish I had a pill that would make me want to kill myself (even more). It might be the push I need.
