My family is considering placing me into residential treatment for 8-12 weeks to help with severe bipolar 1.

Ive been in emergency psych 7 times now. (I just turned 23, so a lot.)

Has anyone been residential? Feel free to share your experience.

If you even think to ask this question, then I'd suggest it to be worthwhile for you to at least attend an assessment and see what impression you can get from the place firsthand.

I don't have personal experience with private residential healthcare, but the few anecdotal accounts I've heard from other people have been positive.

I also was diagnosed with bipolar 1 and my mom is thinking of sending me out of state somewhere to a residential program. I was inpatient 12 times and counting. My mom isn't sending me somewhere yet though because of this Coronavirus.

I'd freaking love to go residential but it would cost as much as my house to do it. So it's kind of impossible for me.

I got sent to a rehab/mental illness facility and had no addiction going into the program but left wanting to try psychedelics. It maybe helped. The number one thing it did was get me out of my dad's house which is the reason I wanted to ctb.

How do people pay for those places? Like serious question. I'm in the US so maybe that's my problem. They are 60 grand and upward to do. I really really need it...i'm in a bad place and have been for a long time...but there's no way in hell I could swing that without being a celebrity or going into debt at the level of a mortgage.
