• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Sorry if the title is a little confusing I'm really not sure what the call this place, it's basically a suicide prevention center in where people can get therapy if they're having suicidal thoughts or have attempted suicide (very much me lol). They have a team of mental health professionals who help create personalized support plans. It's specifically for adults who aren't already getting psychiatric help somewhere else - which I guess is me since I've gotten out of the psych ward.

Anyway yeah - enough context. So my family (after confiscating my first SN and are worrying like crazy style) found this place and kind of forced me into calling them and getting a time so I'm going tomorrow for like a two hour and initial conversation, and I'm not really sure what to expect and I'm really quite skeptical. I mean, I ordered SN again and it's gonna be here in a couple days so it's a little weird attending this shit but yeah, I just wanted to hear if anyone has tried something similar and could kinda give me a rundown of what I could expect or what I should prepare or something like that.

You didn't state which country you are in (or i failed to notice that) and that's kinda crucial.
Friend of mine, residing currently in US, attempted to ctb but stopped half way there and decided to get help. Called ER and ended up locked in psych ward for about 2 weeks. That's about it what i know.

I think I know what you mean. Here in the UK we have charities that have programs like this all over the place. I don't know if it is exactly the same as the one you're going to but the programs here are like group therapy, doing different activities and I believe can also have one to one sessions. I have heard only great things about them but never personally attended due to not feeling safe leaving the house when I'm peaking in my suicidal ideation. Please let us know how you find it.

Personally I'd just go in with no expectations and see what happens. Maybe it might be nice for a some social interaction and if there are group sessions/activities it might be good to be able to speak with other people who understand, bit like on here but in person?

yup, they r called "crisis sanctuaries" where i am, though people can go to them for reasons other than feeling suicidal. the first time i went, they made me call my doctor and make an appointment, threatened to send me to emergency services. tho i adamantly refused this, so the compromise we made was that they would call the hospital on my behalf once i left. when i got home the police called me and asked if i was safe, etc. i was with my roomates so i had no intention of ctb at the time and i was left to my own devices.

i have been to these on 2 other occassions and they did not try to send me to the hospital lol. both were very much a case of me talking for less than an hr and then them going "oh ur session is over now, u need to leave." not very helpful ahah, I don't think I'll be going again. went home feeling like crap

for context, I'm in the UK and these r charity-run. Though they might be called something different depending on the area

I've volunteered in one - from Brazil - and the dynamics is simple: the person - lay or professional - interacts with you mainly listening to your problem, and perhaps sharing with you information of public institutions. So the scope is to provide someone you can talk to, basically.

Well fuck, they fucking cornered me - halfway through the consultation we got to talk about plans and I froze for a while and it ended up coming down to either they lock me up again again again or i was made to text my sister about my SN while they looked. So I was fucking forced to give up my SN again. At least i'm not locked up in the ward again ig >w<

So fucked up though, I even told them and they acknowledged that I can just order it again like it's such a worthless bandaid fix. Another $100 down the drain, and i'll be one of the few people to order SN FUCKING THREE TIMES!!!!!

I've never and would never admit to anyone that I have a planned date or have collected supplies for my suicide attempt. They will, and likely in most places, are required to remove your means to engage in suicidal actions. In the state I live in, it is illegal to supply or ignore/not report/ leave someone with physical means to CTB if you are aware its purpose is to CTB. So just a thought.
