• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I'm trying to figure out if this is a good/bad idea, or if anyone has any other suggestions...

Not so much for a suicide note, but for more practical purposes: I want to provide my wife with as much information as possible in regards to how to take over stuff that I generally deal with (ie an email detailing every bill she needs to pay each month, every username/password for credit cards, my retirement account, savings account, health insurance, tax stuff etc)

Really boring stuff but don't want to fuck up her life (even more than my suicide will) by having her get into pointless debt etc

That sounds like a very practical thing to do and while she may not directly benefit from it in the short term, those around her can use it if she cannot function.

i would use Boomerang for Gmail.

But be careful, some services like this can monitor the key-words (like, i dunno, "bombe, suicide, shooting" and so on) and inform the police (i heard this on this forum btw.)

If you're going to do this, maybe set it for a date that isn't your actual suicide date. Because if you survive, you probably don't want people to see your suicide email. Good luck friend.

Well she needs to have more than just your bank account number if she is to get that money. You probably need to do a will for that kind of thing. And yes I do plan on using future email for the end of my life.

She is already a beneficiary on everything, but I want her to be able to access everything in the short-term as I don't know the process after death really.
The savings account for example is an online account with Amex and it is a joint account, but I know she has never logged into it as I handle stuff like that.

Yeah I was thinking like a week after I ctb

Depending upon your circumstances and your method, I think it's a very useful tool to send delayed messages to individuals you care about. Not only can you express yourself on a personal level, but you can also ease their pain while coping by helping them navigate their way through what happens next. After all, you can plan your actions for X amount of time. They only deal with shock and fallout. A list of accounts/passwords/things they'll want to do will certainly help. An example would be "Be sure and get 10 copies of my death certificate - financial institutions and my workplace will likely not be cooperative until you have one." Also, a list of contacts with phone numbers/email addresses may be useful. "Mr. X Y is my Estate Attorney. I have named Z as my Executor. His contact information is as follows..."

Finally (and I realize this is a personal thing - some people may not care at all), I think if you have a pet, if you leave your pet at a boarding facility while you CTB (presumably with instructions that another person you designate may pick up the animal), it's CRITICAL you set up a delayed email so your designee can go and get the animal.

Boomerang is a good app that integrates well with Gmail.
