So I was able to source a cylinder of Argon, but apparently it's too heavy to be particularly effective with an exit bag. Is it still viable as an option with a face mask? I was looking at the ones recommended in the PPH and thinking of just picking one of those and ordering it, but I don't want to find out the hard way that it won't work, and I'm not finding a ton of information on here (though I might be bad at searching - I am new, lol).

Also, is it more difficult to deal with the connection from regulator to face mask? I got a regulator that comes with a hose so I could be sure I was getting the right one, but idk how that works with a face mask.

I don't understand how the weight of the cylinder has anything to do with the use of an exit bag. The cylinder just sits next to you.

The gas is heavier... meaning it will be less compatible with the exit bag setup than a lighter gas would be.

I don't know if I've ever heard of anyone trying this, but I wonder if you couldn't invert yourself, as in lay face down rather than face up so that your mouth/nose are in the lower section of the bag where the heavier gas is going to tend to go. I wonder if that could counteract the situation.

Thanks for the clarification
