I'm a very private person so the thought of being on X or on a local news channel reporting and exposing my case makes me feel so uncomfortable and judged.
Or imagine the police leaking your picture on telegram or X. ( They usually do that in the country I live)
I know people will find out that I hung myself but a picture is something else,
I can already see all the people leaving mean comments, judging me, calling me dumb and selfish for ending my life without knowing all the pain and suffering I go through every day. Some will even enjoy it.
I thought I had stopped caring about what others think about me, but I evidently still do and it hurts.
It does not make the process any easier.

This is one of my biggest fears too. I don't want to be on the internet at all like that. I hope you can get past that fear :(

I'm really sorry to hear that you fear that~ :( While I can't say anything regarding the country you live in, I have noticed that sewer slide cases aren't often reported, presumably because governments don't want their tax payers committing sewer slide~ in fact, I only heard of one user's passing because I sent a letter to his mom~

There will be a lot of privacy invasion and judgment after the fact. Unfortunately for obvious reasons you forfeit the right to privacy upon death. And if you can't control the judgments you're subjected to in life then you sure as hell won't be able to in death.

It can be maddening to think about so I try not to focus on it and take comfort in the knowledge that for once these kinds of negative things won't have any impact whereas they had way too much in life.

Most suicides aren't covered by the news. I mean there simply isn't the time/space.

I think it's much more likely to be covered if you jump in front of a train or CTB in a public place. You barely read news reports of hotel suicides (unless it's people jumping from a very tall hotel).

I expect the news also covers certain methods much more often than others.

I know this might sound harsh but unless you're attractive, young, and have a stereotypically nice life, then you wouldn't make an interesting enough story for news outlets.

It's an "anamoly" for normal people that a hot cute girl with good grades, a child, or a nuclear family stay at home trad wife would kill themselves so they'd make the news and have everyone swooning and glazing tf out of them, but if you're someone like nova online or just an average Joe then they wouldn't care.

The media pretty much limits their coverage to celebrities or maybe if done in public.

I don't think this kind of thing is typically reported.

In my neck of the woods, this would likely be how it goes.

If you disappeared to go do your business, then an article and alert may be put out to report a missing person. Because they want to find you whether you're alive or not, families want closure. In my area they'd put up a news article, maybe mention it on the tv evening news and send out cell phone alerts to the affected area. But if you were found deceased, you'd be listed as deceased with something vague for details. But they only release info after the family is notified. They would only use a supplied picture from family or a friend. They wouldn't post what they found, neither would they reveal pictures of it.

A clue sometimes gets listed in an obituary. Something like donations can be made to the planet earth society for mental health. Which would be a hint that suicide was the cause of death. But its still vague enough to not rat you out.

Chances are your family or contact would be the only ones knowing what really happened, if they find you.

We get ambert alerts (cell phone warning) about missing children and seniors with dementia fairly often. Sometimes missing people if they suspect the person might have left the area.
