Method Best Rope

Why do some say that nylon rope isn't the best for partial susp hanging? What rope is best? Diameter? Any info would be helpful - thanks.

Tbh when I tried I just used a bedsheets tied to the door chain. I passed out and it was quite comfortable. I woke convulging panicked and removed. That's the bit you gotta get past.

If I ever tried it again. I'd use benzos and an anti anemic. Fast acting benzos.

please explain. can you ctb with just benzos? or do you mean before hanging?

Oh no. I wouldn't re ommwnd with just benzos. You'd have to be very lucky for it to work. More likely fall asleep for 3 days. Or vomit. I mean. I'd take a few fast acting benzos before partial. In hopes that it would help with si when convulsions come. Maybe you won't wake or be a me to respond.

I'm not sure though. Please don't put my advice into practice as a certainty.

Just got notification of a parcel but I wasn't in, kinda scared to go collect it.

Nylon rope tends to stretch very easily thus it does not put sufficient pressure on the neck. Also, if you have ever tried it, when you make a slip knot with nylon rope is does not slip across the rope very well. If you are going to use rope, try to get hemp rope it works very well, second choice would be cotton.

As a professional rigger, sailor, and rock climber, I can assure you the material of the rope is much less important than the construction of the rope. I have worked with nylon, polyester, polypropylene, aramid fibers, cotton, hemp, and manilla. Good nylon rope --not the crap you get at the hardware store-- will be perfectly adequate. I suggest looking on line for climbing or arborist rope, probably a 12mm or 1/2" "static" (not stretchy) braid, or a low-stretch braided line intended for use on boats. Polyester, aka dacron, aka terylene, would also be an excellent choice, due to its low stretch. I would avoid polypropylene (typically very weak for a given size rope) or the natural fibers (without considerable lubrication their high friction hinders operation of a slip knot).

I don't know if this will be unhelpful, I apologize if it is, but tbh, I was almost successful with a scarf. If my mom hadn't come in, it would have worked wonderfully.

It was a ravishingly fabulous scarf lmao, why not go out in style, I guess? (I grabbed it without a thought, I wasn't actually considering how nice it was going to look in lieu of a rope ha) but yeah, it was comfortable and sort of slick, so easy to slide tighter and held a knot pretty well. I don't think there's a best material to use, I think it's how you use it. Placement is HUGE.

There was a lot of yelling? I was kind of out of it and dazed and don't remember some of it but I wouldn't use the adjective "awkward". I felt discouraged afterwards, when I'd come to.
