  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

This post is nothing special--although it is my first post in the recovery forum, so there's that I suppose.
For a while now I have been not so much in the good area and more in the area of not wanting to be anywhere at all. Lately though, that seems to have eased up, and I'm not sure if that's good or bad...I'm going with good, though. A little while ago I came to better terms with an ex being an ex, considering their situation as well. This and how I've been feeling in general recently has definitely altered my plans.

It's not often that I say this, but it really has been nice to go out and just take in life around me. Especially since I started hanging out with friends again. But even when I'm alone, sometimes I walk through the park and just smile.
I just wanted to get this off of my chest. I know this nice and happy relieved feeling won't last forever, so I'm making the most of it.
I also really need to start using this site more often again, the people here can really be great sometimes

What I've learned is to cherish the good when it comes and ride it out for as long as I can. No, it won't last forever. But you're doing a great job so far of making the most of it like you said.

Definitely helps me to spend time with good friends and out in nature. Keep it up, we're rooting for you!❤

I'm glad you shared this with us. I'm in a pretty good place myself (albeit very short-lived, I'm sure) because I had a good day yesterday. I met one of my closest friends and spouse for the first time in 2.5 years and their little daughter of 17 months. Honestly, it was just pure bliss to see her adorable little face and the joy on her face when she walked and even ran on her own. She only started walking about a week ago.

Anyway, life doesn't always have to be all bad. There are moments of peace and if not happiness, at least content, sometimes. We should treasure those moments and I think sharing them here is a really good thing.

Hugs and love to you

Sometimes coming out of a dark place can help you to appreciate the light. Life has ebbs and flows and to see and savor what is good in a deeper way can be a boost to get you through the tougher times.

It's important to notice these little victories. Improving your mood and being able to appreciate life, even if it was just briefly or in a small way, is a big step to take when you've been surrounded with dark thoughts for a long time. I hope this motivates you to continue improving, but even if you stumble again don't forget moments like these, they are the product of your hard work.
