• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

It's understandable to feel conflicted about being part of a community like Sanctioned Suicide. The most important thing to focus on is your well-being and the well-being of others. You are not a bad person for seeking a space where you feel understood or supported, but it's crucial to consider the impact that space has on your mental health.

If you're feeling hopeless or overwhelmed, please reach out to someone who can help, like a trusted friend, family member, or a mental health professional. You're not alone, and there are people who genuinely care about you and want to support you in finding hope and healing.

Being part of a community is not inherently good or bad; it depends on how it affects you and your journey. If you ever want to talk about what you're going through, I'm here to listen.

ChatGPT's answer is essentially a collation of all the media articles it has scraped information from. It's surprising that it isn't as negative about SaSu as I thought it would be when I read the title- it's probably been scripted to take a nuanced approach. But to me this is meaningless anyway (especially the 'professional' mentions), so I wouldn't take it to heart.

At least it didn't lean forward, take your hand (with its' non existent one) and softly murmur in a tone of infinite patience, "And how does it make you feel ?". Or ask you, on a scale of 1-10 how bad do you think you are.

However, nothing is surprising, AI can generate tons of such meaningless pro-life brainrot about how many wonderful people you have around you, how fucking beautiful life is, what a precious gift it is for you.

Theoretically, AI could have been trained on some of the messages from Sanctioned Suicide. After all, these things learn from data from all over the internet, don't they?

But it seems to me that in the desire of proprietary companies owning this to make it as "safe" and politically correct as possible, it is becoming increasingly useless due to its total censorship.

Maybe it was better to also ban Photoshop? Because someone like me can do this on it:

ChatGPT is not true AI and just a large learning model or language modeller, so it can process and communicate in ordinary language. It can do lots of things that are impressive and can do things that even the creators dont understand how it does, but also things that make us feel stuck when it cant help/understand our questions. ChatGPT doesn't really believe or disbelieve anything though. Its training includes the developers giving it millions of different kinds of data, and then language modelling where it tries to predict/work contextually with "tokens" or words, the whole thing basically inteprets things in these tokens to learn grammar and such, which is why you can phrase questions differently and get lots of different responses back. Then its trained further to align with the companies ethical and safety guidelines. And then an engineer will make feedback on its responses and how it answers all kinds of prompts and questions. Its pre-training is only up to data until 2023 I believe, but It has tools like a web function for searching the internet.

So if I ask chatGPT what it thinks about SS, and provides a balanced take and talks about "support vs harm", it doesn't actually know what supportiveness or harm really is, because it cant experience it. So really whatever "opinion" it gives you is just a balanced presentation of all the opinions it was trained with or searches the internet and acts according to its training, and then processed with an answer according to guidelines and filters and such.
