  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

It may be that your new friends fill an important but partial potion of your life. Many people have a need for the intimate connection that family is supposed to provide. Some have come to a point of disconnection from family that can leave a large need in a person.

Sometimes getting involved at a deeper personal level with someone can fill a familaial need. For example, reading to an elderly person at a nursing home or church can sometimes make a more intimate connection.

When I used to club I had this big entourage of guys and girls, when I got depressed no one cared. I then realised they were not my friends, just drinking friends. I have prob 5 good friends and I rather have few friends than friends who don't care about me. I rather be alone most times as people and their little sheep life annoy me,

I have a couple of the best friends someone could ask for, but I am still severely lonely. The reason is that I seek female companionship, that one person to adore. Often loneliness exists because there is something you desire that is missing from your environment. Sure there could be another reason, but that is probably the most common. It is the first place I would reflect on and think about.

I feel the same way as you. If you chronically "empty" inside and kinda feel aimless/lost with who you are as a person, I would look into BPD (borderline personality disorder) and DBT therapy. Just looking at free DBT workbook online might give you a better way to process your feelings of loneliness, and your relationships with others. Also, some people just have a people-pleaser personality. I have that, and I feel lonely often because I only feel like a useful or functional person if I'm doing something for someone. Short-term, being actively distracted with video games, physical activity, doing hobby/skill, etc helps. Sitting and watching a show or listening to music is not enough for the lonely feelings to go away, its best to avoid stuff where you could think about people and your friends. Long-term, I hope you feel more comfortable being alone, it's hard being your own friend sometimes.
