  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

A flowchart I made to help deal with disordered eating: http://take.quiz-maker.com/Q7ZP1VMM

A flowchart someone else made for general functioning and self care: https://philome.la/jace_harr/you-feel-like-shit-an-interactive-self-care-guide/play/index.html

Soteria House (locations worldwide) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soteria_(psychiatric_treatment)
Alternative to Meds https://www.alternativetomeds.com/

Please feel free to add to this list! I know I'm unaware of many resources that are out there. And unfortunately a lot of the resources there are (such as the latter two I posted) aren't available to many. I'm trying to find more that aren't as limiting.

Psychiatry survivors support organisations and other links (many of which contain further links - even if you don't intend to seek help or recover, it is still a fantastic rabbit hole to traverse should you ever have too much time on your hands and an inclination to amusement at websites whose user interface and graphics are from the 1900s)

Bundesverband Psychiatrie-Erfahrener

National Empowerment Centre - learn about emotional CPR here

Scroll all the way down for more links even if you don't speak Italian - https://senzapsichiatria.blogspot.com/2010/02/hotel-magnus-stenbock.html

I wasn't able to find a link for Hotel Magnus Stenbock nor its parent organisation Riksførbundet før Social och Mental Hælsa, but this is likely due to my poor internet searching skills and complete ignorance of the Swedish language. Same for A Lélek Hangja, just substitute Hungarian in the previous sentence. Or I could just be stupid and unable to read / comprehend that it has closed years ago or never existed and was but a theoretical concept in the mind of a utopian author - I'm that desperate to believe that there are viable alternatives that will actually help people like me no matter where they are in the world. And even if I can't save myself, I would like for this information to be useful to others. If even one other person benefits from a single thing I mention here, that will be sufficient.

MindFreedom chapters worldwide; international link here: https://mindfreedom.org/

Find decent mental healthcare providers here: https://mindfreedom.org/resources/gateway/ (international)

Alternatives to psychiatric imprisonment: https://www.peerrespite.com/ (United States only it seems)

National Coalition for Mental Health Recovery: https://www.ncmhr.org/resources.htm

List of authors, speakers, etc and organisations with many more links: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Network_of_Users_and_Survivors_of_Psychiatry

Self-help website and blog about Dabrowski's Positive Disintegration: https://tragicgift.com/

Feel free to add more to the thread if you know of any resources I've not listed - or if you use one of these resources, to leave a review of your experience.

Thanks? Not sure what to say to that.

I'll definitely check this out, especially those flowcharts. I used to be subscribed to those subreddits. I don't find modern day therapy techniques helpful. I'm moving back into mild medicine for my ptsd because I simply couldn't master it with no pharmaceuticals. I was against medicine for mental health to a fault and have been doing better with low dose clonidine.

Oh sorry, just saying it's good to see anyone exploring ways to feel better and sharing to help others. I appreciate threads like this.

Those flowcharts are actually really cool. I need something like that. I tend to get hooked on my phone when I'm in a bad mental place so it's definitely something I'll use.

These resources are really great, thank you so much for posting all of these. It may be worth contacting a mod to add these to the stickied resources on this section as well.
