• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I currently have a date (won't say what in case it doesn't work out) picked out that's during the semester. My other option is to wait until the semester is over just in case I fail, because if I end up failing and having to be in the mental hospital, it would put me behind academically (and could even fail one of my classes). I'm ctb in a hotel and am taking precautions and believe I'll succeed, but I know some things can go wrong. But I also don't know if I can stick around another 3 months. Three months feels like an eternity when you're struggling. But I'm also wondering if doing it during the semester will encourage me to go the extra mile to make sure I succeed. My other concern is my siblings will be home for the summer break and one of them seems to be able to figure out everything, so chances are said sibling might be able to figure out something is up and get everyone suspicious.

What are your thoughts?

Setting dates has obviously not worked for me (I am still here), but I would say if you have any hesitation then it's besf to wait, and muddle through the semester as best you can.

My hesitation isn't becaue i don't want to die but i need to take care of some urgent matters before I depart, and am wracked by guilt and pain which makes completing these tasks a Herculean feat, esp for a coward like me.

Anyway my vote would be to wait.

My thoughts would be to wait and complete the semester - I think if there is unfinished business, whatever it is, it's harder to approach the task of ctb with a free heart. However long that business takes, things need to be done and finished with then you are free to make clear and informed choices. So I would give it your max this next semester and go for it - then you can know you can choose to go when ready with a clear head.

I'm waiting until the end of the semester ... I had originally planned on March but as I've only been sure about ctb for a solid 1.5 months feels rushed. Plus there's so many things I still want to do including a concert at the close of the semester. 3 more months does seem like forever tbh and I'll need to go back to work bc I've been spending like I was going to die next month... I'm spending the next few months doing more things with family, seeing movies etc

Wait until the end of the semester. Many people even those that feel certain end up backing out, which can have bad consequences. Ie you could fail your classes because you think you will die so it doesn't matter and so on.

Impulse seems to work best.

I've learned doing it on impulse doesn't work with me. My attempts failed because I changed my mind after the impulse passed. Also, I'm guessing the exit bag should be enough (and if done correctly, the sudden drop in oxygen should cause swift unconsciousness), but in case it doesn't work, I would have time to change my mind about SN. So I think planning it out is better than an impulse in my situation.
