Ive been on other antidepressants, lexapro, prozac, and not Zoloft, and they want to start me on wellbutrin too. Since starting zoloft, I feel like it just washed a little bit of the guilt. Maybe I'm just running on autopilot, and my desire to be free? Is it worth going on more antidepressants, like,e honestly? But honestly, I don't want to feel better; weirdly enough, I feel mentally clearer than ever.

Antidepressants can cause long term issues. It can be extremely difficult to keep taking them after a while due to withdrawal symptoms. They can cause sexual dysfunction, emotional numbing, and physical issues as well. Some effects may last long term even after you quit taking them.

Wellbutrin is a benzodiazipine. They're very addictive and dangerous.

Don't blindly trust psychiatry.

How onnuanced is this comment!
Medication is tested, ofcourse there are risks, but with a good psychiatry the risks would be weighted.

It's not. Actually quite the opposite. It contains bupropion, which influences noradrenaline and dopamine - usually works by improving energy and motivation. Benzos are sedating meds, prescribed for people with anxiety issues. Also bupropion is known to be one of the easiest antidepressants to come off of as it doesn't have many withdrawal effects.

I agree that blindly trusting a doctor may be dangerous BUT research about meds is mostly legit. Read about how they work, the most common side effects etc.
Everyone has VERY individual reactions but there are some statistical averages.

All of the meds you mentioned are SSRIs. If they don't work for you, maybe a different class of drugs can be successful. For example SNRIs (like duloxetine or venlafaxine), or tricyclic antidepressants (though the latter are a last resort really because they often have unpleasant side effects).

Wellbutrin is not a SSRI but a NDRi, It works differently than the ones you've taken before, so it might be worth giving it a shot - but it's mostly helpful if you have the low energy, apathetic kind of depression. It can worsen anxiety if you have problems with that.
