  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

No, that is not the case for every antidepressant medication. Even for those medications that have some form of "sexual dysfunction" as a known side effect, there is no guarantee that you will be affected in that way. This is a generic answer but if this is a concern that you have, then you should definitely bring it up with your psychiatrist.

Well, there are antidepressants which can completely take away your sexdrive (libido), but in my case it was the other way around. I got a combination of meds (minimum of 7 each time, three to four times a day) which made my libido dangerously high. It got me in A LOT of problems. One of those problems resulted in me not being able to take them anymore. After that I started smoking weed everyday for like a month. It was a substitute for the medication and it kept me calm, but after a few weeks, the side-effects from stopping with all my medication at once kicked in. I was in a very dangerous, life-threatening situation at the time and got out after a month. That's also when the panic attacks began.

Now, three years later, I only take 1 lorazepam (1mg) a day because it's the only medicine I trust. I can't take anything else, because the extreme anxiety will take over if I do. Luckily the anxiety and panic attacks aren't that heavy anymore, but now my depression is back more then ever.

This probably misses a lot of context lol sorry for the vent.

Long answer short: depression meds CAN cause sexual problems one way or another, but as somebody else already said; that doesn't have to be the case for you.

The title is self explanatory.

If possible (affordable) try the brand instead the generic. Many generics have new / worse / different side effects than brand that are not mentioned in warnings.

Viibryd (vilazodone) is what I currently take, which is an SMS (serotonin modulator and stimulator) similar to an SSRI to my understanding. If zoloft, paxil, lexapro, luvox etc are drugs that really help you other than causing sexual dysfunction, try Viibryd or Trintellix (which I have not tried, but it is also an SMS and has been on the market since 2013). I am grateful for Viibryd because before it was introduced in 2011, the best I had was Zoloft, which caused frustrating delayed ejaculation which I deemed unacceptable were I to have a satisfying sex life.

Mentally and moodwise, I would say it's not quite as good as Zoloft or the big name SSRIs, but I take large doses of 5-HTP along with it and it helps me just fine. Add some yohimbine, saffron and green tea extract, lots of fruits and vegetables, and abstain from masturbating, and my sex drive/functionality has skyrocketed.

Yes, I believe that is one of the purposes lol! There is an agenda to reduce the population. Almost all the meds they push on us like birth control, antidepressants, cause sexual dysfunction and libido problems.

Probably not but they are all a scam and will eventually cause some other problem such as your balls falling off etc. Even if you don't have balls they will still fall off

Agenda 21 or 2030 is not a conspiracy. You guys should look into it. They have been working on this for decades to reduce the population and especially the white population.

Sertraline made me unable to climax, eventually making me uninterested in even trying. A few months later I took myself off them and my interest came back higher than ever. It's back to normal now tho.

I'm on meds and sexually broken but I don't know how closely related the two things are

It sounds like a conspiracy theory but then I believe a lot of things are about population control

Yes. It was likely a compulsion or addiction in my case. What was once daily became once every week, 2 weeks or so. Oddly enough, finishing got more intense.

Yea this is why I couldn't stay on them. I'm like damn I'm trading the pleasure of sex and orgasms to be on pills that really don't make my life any better just slightly more tolerable but with all these side effects? No thanks lol!

Different side effects-for different people. alot of them will say reduced libido, i did not find that at all, & some people will find there libido lifts a bit, once the depression lifts too, because obviously depression in itself can cause loss of/ lowering of libido too.

Not all of them do,but most of them can.
Highly dependent on the medication and dosage, and the individual.

I've tried all of them and almost all gave SD.
But then again,I'm blessed,I get every sudeide effect imaginable and possible on any drug.

Not all of them do but a lot of them can decrease your sexual libido. Or make it unable to get an erection. plus I've noticed than when you're depressed, sex is one of the last thing you think about. I'm in physical pain all the time so the last thing I want to do is have sex.

I can attest to not wanting sex or a libido. I've had a semi-compulsive browsing habit with porn ("addiction"? who the fuck knows!) since the age of 12 or so which, along with SSRIs, probably killed my erectile functioning. Sexual fantasy as a whole has never helped me one bit in my life, and the act itself I find dull and uninspiring. I also find the hunger of sex to encourage morbid and depressed thinking, a sort of scarcity mentality. For the past week or two I've had a marked decrease in interest in sex and my usual fantasy-oriented thinking. I realized at some point that it was also the first time in awhile that I felt somewhat at peace in my head (except for the insomnia).
