• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

i can go multiple days without eating and my reasoning for it (gonna sound a bit stupid) is because im too "lazy(+broke) to eat". my intention is actually to gain weight, so it does seem a lil counterintuitive. people around me (especially my mum) tell me that i have an eating disorder and i need to get it checked out, but i genuinely don't think so- maybe im js delusional. as im writing this, it's been over 2 days of no food and barely any water but i honestly don't feel hunger or the need to eat anymore.

I have a similar problem, it's probably an ED. If you can, you should try to seek professional help to get you through it; and try to eat smaller foods packed in nutrients, it helps easing into eating more regularly.

Hope you the best!

I'm not sure if being too "lazy" and broke to eat would qualify as a ED. The "lazyness" that you're feeling might be from feeling depressed and lack of energy or wishes to do take care of yourself fully in certain ways due to that depressive and drained feeling. Being too broke to eat also kinda of forces you to starve, doesn't sound like you're forcing yourself to starve on purpose or out of a body image related issue.

Does it feel obsessive? Are you nervous or anxious or compulsive about eating food, gaining or losing weight? I'd say I've had borderline eating disorders in the past and massive anxieties around food.

That's not to say it isn't an ED. Regardless though, not eating for a few days isn't great. Like @lionetta12 said, it almost seems more like a symptom of other things though- not being bothered to take care of yourself or your health. So- maybe more like depression. Not that I'm qualified to know. Do you end up binging after fasting so long?

im no longer depressed, but i currently have no motivation to properly take care of myself and lead a healthy lifestyle. but i also have no reasoning as to why im letting myself go in the first place.

nope. i generally don't mind what i usually eat, as long it's not severely unhealthy, i hit my protein goals and im in a calorie surplus at the end of the day (haven't been sticking to this for months though). the only times i ever binge, is out of boredom, but i rarely binge now.

I have issues with eating as well. I struggle to meet daily calorie requirements and am "BMI underweight."

For me, it doesn't feel like a problem. And yet, I know that it is a problem...

My doctor floated an anorexia diagnosis, but I wasn't sure how body image plays into my eating and I was hesitant about even talking about it, so the conversation didn't really go anywhere. If I was more forthcoming about my eating-related issues, I'd definitely be diagnosed with something -- I assume either avoidant restrictive food intake disorder, or anorexia, in that order of likelihood.

Regardless of what label may or may not apply to you, if you're restricting despite wanting to gain weight, having episodes of binge eating, have no motivation to take care of yourself, and people close to you are observing a potential problem, then yes, you should see a doctor about what's happening.
