• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I do believe in intuition. Not to say it's always right but sometimes, I get a sense to do something or, not do something. Somewhat unpleasant things have happened as a consequence of ignoring my intuition in the past, so I try to pay attention to it now and, obey it.

It's an intesting phenomenon though- don't you think? It sort of alludes to predestiny in that- something bad is or was destined to happen and, we get the sense of it to be able to avoid it.

Maybe it could be argued that it's more to do with prediction, based on common sense. Someone offering you a lift on a lonely highway may not have entirely pure intentions. Sometimes, it's much more random than that though- I've experienced.

Obviously in terms of evolution, an animal that can sense danger and steer clear is going to live longer but- where does it come from- do you suppose? I don't think it is all logical reasoning, it feels more like a sense of something.

I trust my intuition and use it to make decisions in situations where conscious reasoning gets me nowhere. Most of these cases are when I try to socialize with people: reading body language, interpreting word choices, and figuring out someone's intentions or (ulterior) motives.

There are also moments where my intuition "approves" my irrational thoughts. My reason for acting on these thoughts often boil down to "can't be too careful" and "there's no harm in doing it, so why not?" For example, one time, I was cycling home in the dark without bicycle lights. With only 200 yards to go and 2 miles behind me, my gut feeling told me to stop and walk the remainder of the trip. Lo and behold, 10 second later a police unit drove past the corner into the street. I felt like a smooth criminal walking with my bike next to me. :sunglasses:

You intuition may very well be part of your survival instincts. Perhaps also based in generalizations.

I trust my intuition. Most of the time it turns out to be right even though it doesn't always appear to based on logic. The few times that I ignored it, I was sorry that I didn't listen to it. It may be your subconscious picking up on some detail that your conscious mind didn't pick up on at the time.
