• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

I'm so exhausted all the time. I can't remember the last time I got a really good night sleep. I just wish I could turn off my mind and rest.

Me neither. I am woken up constantly with a racing heart due to fear and just a bunch of awful thoughts.

It takes me ages to get to sleep, and most nights I'm only able to manage a few hours on and off. I've run out of Nytol, but usually if I take 4 of those (admittedly that's double the recommended dose) I'm able to knock myself out for 12 hours or so.

No because I always wake again and continue to be trapped in this cruel, torturous existence and I always suffer so much from being conscious in this existence, no matter what I'll always see so much cruelty in how I cannot just have the option to fall into an eternal dreamless sleep as non-existence really is all I hope for. I'll only be at peace in eternal sleep where all is finally gone and forgotten and there is no more pain and no more suffering, to me existence really is the problem and I'd just never wish for the suffering of existing no matter what, I'll always find it so dreadful to suffer in this existence just hoping and waiting to not exist anyway with no limit as to how much agony one can feel, eternal sleep truly is all I see as desirable and positive.

It varies really. But, even when I get to sleep quickly and stay asleep, I don't exactly wake up rested. I don't get enough sleep because I'm usually working till 10pm and then, I want at least a bit of downtime. Plus, I usually have anxiety dreams, so it isn't an entirely calming experience.

Yeah, I remember when I used to work a 2nd shift job. It was terrible. I'd get home after midnight and couldn't go right to bed. I'd be up all night watching stupid TV and probably get to sleep like at 6am or 7am. Then I'd sleep all day until about 2pm in the afternoon, until it was time to get up, get ready for work, and do it all over again. And you know that's really normal for most people. People who work 1st shift jobs don't come home at 5pm and go right to bed. They do things after work. But, with a lousy 2nd shift job, there's really nothing to do at those hours overnight, unless you're a barfly, which I wasn't. Yeah, a 2nd shift job was nothing but work and sleep. I hated it.

And no, I really don't sleep all that well now. I don't get much of a "restful" sleep anymore. I wake up too much. I usually take naps to make up for it.

To be fair, it's sort of my fault. I work from home. It's not like I have clocking on and off times. Still, the nature of my work is very all or nothing, tight deadlines and very time consuming. So, I try to start work by 10am and finish at 10pm, breaking to eat (and exercise- if I have time.) Within that though, I work at a slower pace, have films/ music on in the background when I can. So- the pace is more relaxed but I can be working every day for months on end. So yeah, life does feel mostly work really.

I agree though- shift work or 9-5's- When were they ever? Most firms demanded 9-6 but were really just as bad. With the time I did have off, I was too exhausted to do anything and, if I tried, I'd regret it once I was back at work! I just don't know how people have the energy to balance work and live plus, families! Yeah, also did night work for a while. 12 hour shifts- 7pm till 7am. Very odd to adjust to.

Sometimes I do not sleep at all. For days. Anxiety keeps me looped in insomnia and exhaustion.

Used to sleep well
Now I suffer from insomnia and every time I wake up I immediately feel terrible because I usually reflect on everything that was messed up in my life before sleep and so I start my day with those thoughts
I also keep waking up multiple times in the middle of the night I don't remember when's the last time I actually slept properly
But I have no choice, sleeping is my only escape

Does that really work? Are there any adverse or undesireable effects from taking it?
For me it does. Instead of taking 2 ill take 3 melatonin gummies. Its probably not good for you but oh well

I love sleeping, I love dreaming, it's the thing I anticipate the most during the day, my problem is falling asleep tho bc of voices and thoughts, so for me it takes 4-5 hours to fall asleep (it's been years since i've been using rain/waves sounds to sleep, otherwise i just can't)

It's hard for me to fall asleep, but when I do, I often wake up due to chronic pain and spasms. I was prescribed Trazadone and it doesn't help me sleep but it does seem to make me a bit less twitchy.

I sleep quite a lot nowadays, there's not much else to do. I had dinner a few hours ago and I just noticed that I slept for at least an hour afterwards. I'm still hours away from my regular bedtime.

I can fall asleep no problem. Staying asleep is my issue. I'm up multiple times a night even with melatonin every night. Then I drag my ass all day. I've been napping a lot lately and I hate it because then I'm not productive and half my day is gone.

I just want to sleep and stay asleep.

I have had insomnia for 20 years. I wake up after about 6 hours of restless sleep if I am lucky. Today I woke up at 12:30am after sleeping for about 4 hours. I have tried a lot of things and I am down to the highly addictive sleep aides, which I will not take as I am prone to addiction and already have a drinking problem.

Good thing: I can function just fine on very little sleep.

I've had sleep problems most of my life, took medication too, sometimes it comes back but I keep it under control now even though I think I'm in a worse mental state.
My body is probably used to the crippling misery by now.

There are things you can do to manage it if you want to though, most of them work but I know for experience that if you're the type of person who has insomnia it WILL come back every now and then

Nembutal used to be prescribed as a sleeping pill in the the US. No sure when that ended. I'm sure more than a few folks used it for another purpose.

Very rarely do I wake up feeling rested. I take an antipsychotic a couple of hours before bed to help me sleep.

The clocks going forward always messes up my waking time because it's so light in the morning I'll wake up at 5/6am when I dont need to be up until 7, very frustrating.
