Discussion Do you think Elliot Rodger could have been saved?

I know what he did was detestable but one cannot help but realize the guy had some severe untreated mental illness. Either Aspergers combined with narcissism or anti social personality disorder.

My question is, could someone have intervened before he planned his day of retribution and saved all those people from dying?
