• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Presidents generally reflect the general moral and demographic imperative. The president is a reflection.

So some did. The big thing has always been the state of the economy. Presidents may not cause recessions but they get blamed for them. Inflation and the lockdowns hurt the democrats along with Biden's gaffs. A lot were also votes against "woke culture" and immigration issues.

I said initially for 2016, many people voted for Trump in order to get judges who are textualists, conservatives, and/or both. Taking conservative control of the court by replacing one of the liberal justices (or centrist Kennedy) was high-priority for them.

Regardless if its true: most working class Americans outside the liberal bubbles do have a nostalgia for Trump. They remember: no Ukraine war, no Israel war, no Covid (started at the tail end, Biden presided over most of it). They remember a strong economy and tax cuts. The stock market was at an all time high and both inflation and unemployment were low.

I think a lot of young men are also drawn to Trump's bombastic attitude. He just speaks his mind. It's hilarious.

Things have really become a parody of themselves. This country gets the leader its citizens deserve.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Obviously the Executive Branch is more than just the president. There's a lot more that goes on behind the scenes.

@noname223 what is your fascination with American politics, German friend? 🇩🇪 🇺🇸

In the US everything seems to be louder and faster. There is more hard and soft power. The richest people live there. The (pop)culture admired in many parts world. House Of Cards inspired my fascination with US politics. The cars they drive are bigger. The companies have way higher value. The most valuable companies come from the US, NVIDA, Apple, Microsoft etc.

However, the US has many down sides which I now realized.

When he voted for him.
Sadly, a far too large part of the American electorate is not capable of considering the true nature of what's at stake. And so we'll see what happens. I hope for the best, as we're all in this together, but with guarded expectations.

Thing is, most people don't care about allot of his policies.
Lots of people voted for him because they are in a worse financial place than they were 4 years ago when Biden took office. You know, inflation, cost of living going up, ext.
And they saw Kamala (being his VP), as 4 more years of going down that same road

The average voter in any country knows almost nothing about anything thats not relevant to their specific hobbies, social circle and workplace.
