  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Meh, it seems happy comes at the cost of smarts. I'm willing to fake happy, cuz you can't fake smart. Except with the exceptionally stupid, I guess.

Have you ever noticed that happiness is usually a very simple concept? When you are happy, and around other happy people... it's usually uncomplicated. People are not inclined to overthink happiness.

Unhappiness, on the other hand, can be (and very often is) incredibly complex and confusing when you're trapped in that state.

This is part of the reason I think many of us seek a clean simple resolution to our often complicated unhappy lives - such as ctb. Most people do not want lots of confusion and complexity in their daily life. It eventually becomes really exhausting and draining. For the same reason, people take mind altering drugs etc.

I can't remember being happy at any time since I was born.

No, happiness doesn't even exist to me anyway, the whole concept of happiness is a delusion to me. Having the ability to exist is completely undesirable to me in every way, I only wish for nothingness, I only want to be permanently at peace, I don't wish to endure this cruel and meaningless existence under any circumstances, I have awareness of how existing is just an unnecessary harm.

You're confusing the temporary emotional state of happiness with the constant state of joy. There are people who may be suffering in the moment but who have long lasting joy, and people who may feel great momentarily but have no joy in their life whatsoever.

Yes, I want to be happy. I want to be able to live a life that I want to live where I can find some form of meaning in it.

I'm certain that, deep down inside, everyone wants happiness -- the criteria for a happy life may just vary widely from person to person. The desire to kill oneself is a desire born from a deeply ill and corrupt planet, and usually an option taken when happiness or any improvement in one's condition seems impossible.

Yes and no. I hate myself so much that I am willing to sacrifice my own happiness just to ensure that guy (who is me) remains miserable because of what he (me) did to me (him).

I do want to but happiness is unfamiliar and scary at the same time when you have always been a melancholic person and then you wonder when the happiness will be ripped away from you again never to return in the same way. When it's such a rarity to you that you try to cling onto it and not sink back into the void of being in a depressed state of mind like you've had for years and years. But I hope one day I can be happy everyday. I don't even remember life before I had depression it was too long ago

I don't trust happiness. It's usually setting me up for a greater fall. I suppose I'd really just rather avoid all the things that may or may not bring me happiness too. As in- most take money, risk and effort. Money requires working, risk requires being strong enough to cope with disappointment, failure and loss, effort is exhausting. The backbone to it all: work isn't all that fun anymore. I'm just tired of the whole cycle.

I guess I do but not that much. For me, what I want the most isn't happiness but rather the cessation of suffering. I believe that there is an asymmetry between pleasure and pain in the sense that pain outweighs pleasure and happiness. Hence I'd rather really have the cessation of suffering rather than the presence of happiness

Sure, I want that. It seems like such an easy concept to most people (from the outside). The real question is to me: Am I able and allowed to be happy?

Sure, but I dont even know if itll even help at this point. Faking joy for people to stop asking is exhausting so I guess itll help in that regard. Im not even sure if I even really want it since itll turn bad by the time I need it. It always does and I hate it.
