An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.
Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.
does anyone else feel like they're taking the "easy" way out. Knowing so many people who have died (car accidents, shootings) it irks me to take my own in a way... if anyone gets what I mean.

On one hand, there are plenty of people you hear about who have gone through incredible hardships and are still strong. I know someone like this and often when I hear of other people like him I wonder why I'm also not coping and thriving when my situation is not as bad as others.
On the other hand, I simply can't bear the thought of going on like this for the rest of my life. We all have different capacities for our emotional/mental anguish and some people seem to be able to flourish regardless of their situation, whereas others (such as myself) struggle.
Though suicide is never an easy way out. Often it seems to be the final way out after someone has exhausted all other options. In addition it requires lots of planning and thought, and if you ask me, a lot of bravery and courage.

If this was really the easy way out we wouldn't know where to dump all the bodies.
And besides, there's nothing wrong in doing things the "easy" way, I don't see enduring unnecessary hardships as particularly ennobling.

Think about it this way and this is just my honest opinion, but most deaths happen without having any control whatsoever in the situation. All those millions of people who die each year die of circumstances that are literally out of their control. While some prolifers may argue that we aren't in full control of our mental capacity for decision making when regarding suicide, it's the only option we have to finally taking control of our lives. We didn't choose to be born, we didn't choose the bodies we inhabit, we didn't choose the families we are stuck with, we didn't choose that pain will be an overarching problem that affects the human condition, etc. So many aspects of life is out of our control. Nothing comes easy, everything is hard. There's no point in fighting a battle that you'll lose regardless, it's up to you to decide whether or not you want to take the only control you have or the universe, God(s), society or whatever will choose for you. And at the end of all this suffering we'll all be absorbed back to the void like we never existed in the first place. Pointlessly drifting towards an equilibrium of knowing that all of this was fucking pointless and tragic.

It isn't a competition man.. I do feel sorry for those whose life were cut short due to accident or disease. I wish it was me in their place so they could go on to have successful lives
Life has no meaning without happiness, growth and sense of satisfaction. When the problems and challenges you used to have a year ago seem trivial and easy now. But when you've had the same problems year after year and you still aren't anywhere near a solution, sometimes it's just best to say, I'm done and get out of the game.

Maybe "easy" was the wrong word. It's hard to convey what I'm really trying to say but I think you got the gist of it. It's just the first time I've known people and talked to them... and now they're not here. Even if we weren't close it's just hard to wrap my head around I guess.
