Discussion Does SaSu have decent moderation?

Are you all generally satisfied with the moderation here or do you feel it's partial?

I think that the moderation here is good. I still don't think that this site is perfect as it's ultimately going to be infected by humans doing their usual human shit but the mods here do try their best to make this place safer. For some reason (probably due to tantacrul), people have this notion that the mods protect certain members over others but I disagree with that as, once again, they are just being fair and sticking to the rules. Obviously there's going to be some mistakes made in the moderation process as making mistakes is what humans are all about but I do believe that the mods are operating neutrally here. They don't power trip or use their mod status to act like they are superior than everybody else here which you think should be a reasonable thing to expect but you have places like discord or reddit where power tripped mods are rampant

The few times I have reached out to a mod it was resolved well and in a timely manner. Mod communication has also been really great! I'll echo what wishtodie said, people are gonna people online so there will always be shitheads on here. However, I have never felt unsafe, oppressed, or accused on this site. Opinions differ, and that's fine, but this site is remarkably civil considering "the internet" as a whole.

I will also say I am a liberal user of the "block" button. Ain't got time for people who I feel are chronically judgemental/toxic and if I can never see their BS, then I will take that opportunity.

I think the moderation is fine. I haven't had many encounters with needing it, just things here and there, and I saw mods resolving the issues quickly. I also saw other issues being resolved quickly just by being an observer.

As with everyone else here, the moderation team are also humans like us, with their own difficult lives and their own ways of thinking. I don't expect perfection from any mod team elsewhere and I'm even more understanding here due to the nature of the site.

In general, the mod team left a positive impression on me. I think it takes a lot to handle the very complicated lives they surely live and manage a complicated community like this. I think the people in the mod team are well chosen, smart individuals. I have a lot of respect towards them.

I appreciate what seems to me very light touch, yet effective, moderation. It's very challenging to allow free expression of all sorts of varied opinions from people who are often speaking from a not very good place. They do a good job.

Yeah, Tantacru claimed he was singled out and harassed by the mods, also, I feel his video is the only reason the site gained the traction it did since I discovered it through his video too, a gateway
