Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.
This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

Omg! I didn't think dogs committed suicide but given that they become dependent and very attached to owners I guess I can understand they experience distress. Now they got no pack, got adjusted to the domestic life and now they don't know how to deal.
These are two instances that I know of involving a dolphin and an orca.Wow until now I honestly thought suicide was a human species only phenomena.

Thats what I think, too. Suicide is clearly a human behavior.
There is no evolutionary purpose for suicide. Evolution only explains genetic/biochemistry adaptation to the environment. Humans got very intelligent trough genetic mutations. Thanks rhis intelligence we can do also things, which evoltion no directly has forseen.Wow until now I honestly thought suicide was a human species only phenomena.

Interesting but I'm not sure what to believe. I think we tend to underestimate animals based on our own hubris.
