• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I finally was approved for euthanasia and sorted out the details with the doctor but I'm still scared?!?!

What's a good way to overcome SI in this situation since I essentially just lay there and drift asleep to never wake up again yet I'm still hesitant because it's fucking scary?

Everyone that's born has to die and decades before we didn't exist yet I'm having trouble with dying the easiest death ever?

Please help

Courage!

Is your approval for euthanasia limited in time? If not, why not waiting until not existing seems for you in all facets better than being alive?

Ongeacht de begeleiding uiteindelijk met ikzelf die laatste stap zetten wat hard is en handelen naarlange de "don't think just drink" methode bij sodium nitrite is waarschijnlijk de enige oplossing?

Holistically I am grateful I existed and the good memories are tethering me to life

Anytime I've had surgery, I remember how peaceful drifting to sleep felt while being put under. I bet it'll be the same as that. Something to look forward to, imho

Giving up what you know, even when intolerable, is difficult.
Think about it step by step and not as an entire process. That might get you through this.
Best wishes!!!

Focus on all the reasons why you're doing this and realise that soon you'll be free of all the pain and anguish.

Several methods are used. It can be administered intravenous or as a (sweet) drink. There are reports available on what meds are used.

Certainly don't proceed unless you're absolutely certain. I think that desth would be scary in any situation but at some point it is preferable to continuation of a life that is unbearable. Take as much time as you need. 🤗

I don't think you're ready honestly if you're this conflicted about it. It's supposed to bring you peace, not scare you.

If you can't do it without fear, do it while afraid. fear is human, and we can't help what we are

I still feel unlucky because the 1st 23.25 years of my life were manageable/enjoyable

If you truly want to live, then I don't know if this is the right decision for you. It sounds like you should at least put it off if you're undecided about it.
If you still have some quality in your life that you're enjoying, there's no harm in putting off the decision until the quality has degraded further.

19th of Jan. 25' marks 3 years since my bestie blocked me and almost 3 years since life became intolerant (24th Feb. 24'). I'm unwilling to endure the status quo and even if it changes those 1000+ days were so horrifically traumatic I'd rather be dead than remember

Firstly I would like to say congrats on being allowed euthanasia!!!

Secondly, just think happy thoughts. Mabye reminisce on your life (if positive) or listen to your favourite music to calm down. You should not worry or stress. You worked to hard to stress.

Calm down, take deep breath, and do some grounding exercises before your euthanasia.

<3 wish you well @MeowTheFlemishCat

Forgive me for my ignorance about this, but in your country are you entitled to any sort of counseling when undergoing this process? Not necessarily therapy in the traditional sense, but something more like hospice counseling designed for being able to discuss death related topics and concerns openly. I think in some countries this sort of service is also called a death doula?

When it comes to such a grave matter, I think it's important to not leave a single stone unturned in terms of uncertainty and regrets, and get all of your concerns out in the open. Euthanasia offers a huge element of control, because dying can always be postponed one chooses. So if there is uncertainty, it might mean that it's time to step back and consider if now is really the right time and if it's the right decision for you, especially if the idea elicits so much fear. Not trying to preach at all, just making an observation.

I'm not sure if the medical system in your country offers these things, but I think being able to talk to someone in the profession who deals with such cases, for example a hospice nurse or patient advocate specialising in assisted dying, could give you an idea of what is going to happen on the day, answer any questions you might have, and provide some emotional support. You shouldn't have to be struggling with this alone.

It sounds like you're not ready. It shouldn't make you scared. Maybe there's another way. Do you wanna chat?
