This is perhaps my biggest trigger for ctb, Evan Scott Perry, son of filmmaker Dana Perry, talked about wanting to die since he was a child, at 5 he said he wanted to play at the school window, he tried it a little older, he was hospitalized, diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he was well taken care of by his parents, but even so he was obsessed with death (just like me), after looking better, Evan threw himself out of his bedroom window at the age of 15, his story is reported in the documentary Boy Interrupted , I cried like a baby watching, I never identified myself so much with anyone, he was beautiful, talented, very loved, but even then he was gone, this video is a homage that I did to him, I'll just leave it here as a reminder, I'll watch him again before ctb. So, that's it, I just wanted to leave it here as a souvenir and by chance if someone is interested in the story. 6F1D793A E548 4060 916A BFEB94FC8157

I watched that documentary just last week, he clearly wanted to go and was going to ctb eventually, like his uncle did the same thing. Was a very nice documentary I hope he did not suffer because he only fell a short distance really.

Incredibly sad story. I had heard about this boy and the documentary made about him ages ago but you reminded me. I will make a note to watch the documentary. Apparently this was his suicide note, which he left open on his laptop after jumping:

things to die for:
1. fear of failing
2. lack of trust in friends
3, working hard for what?
4. never being able to fit in
5. knowing all the bad things are true; being lazy, looser, ugly, untalented, and stupid.
6. what's the point?

things to live for:
1. potential of being something great
2. love of people i trust
3. the future
4. finding trusting friends
5. sadness brought to family
6. feeling better later

so, 6 things to live for and six things to die for

things i want:

york prep to never know why or how i died

to be forgotten

only family is invited to the funeral

for death to be painless

and finally for everyone to move on and know i am sorry but this is for the best

May he RIP.

Just watched this and it was incredibly moving. I can't say I identify with him 100%, but I did feel like he was a lot like me when I was younger.

Very sad. RIP.

I loved this documentary, it is really triggering but I've rewatched it about 20 times now. It's just so sad, I've never heard of such a young child growing up with suicidal ideation since the age of like 6? It's depressing and it hurts me. Like 15, it's just so shocking and must've been traumatic for his Family.it also sickens me how many parents think their kids are just being edgy and how depression is just something they'll grow out of. In recent news and documentaries of kids who ctb a lot of it is bullying, and it sickens me to my stomach. A recent case was a child only 7 or 8 years old. This world is messed up and it makes me cry inside
Forgot to add, there is a similar documentary on YouTube, if you search 'Chazz Petrella', this poor child was let down by mental health services, just like in the UK for me and others

I will watch the documentary you recommended me, I can't watch much about Evan, I think I'll do it just before ctb, I feel like I was an Evan, but without friends and without care or people who love me
on YouTube, if you search 'Chazz Petrella', this poor child was let down by mental health services, just like in the UK for me and others
it's a shame I couldn't find subtitles for this documentary in my language, it seems very touching, my english is horrible to watch something
