  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I really struggle when it comes to New Year as it always exposes my chronic loneliness and isolation, subsequently causing intense self-reflection. This feeling is more intense at New Year compared to Christmas (as Christmas has more emphasis on family rather than peers).

I feel that there is something inherently wrong/askew with me (personality-wise and physically). I do not believe I am a bad person as such (namely due to my job and beliefs), but have definitely made serious mistakes.

I'm wondering how others feel about themselves? Does anybody have any suggestions that helped them escape such feelings?

Obviousy the OPs going through some hard times. I know someone's always got it worse but it's not a competition.

Sometimes we are our own worst critics. The process of looking within ourselves and dealing with our shortcomings and previous mistakes can be very difficult. I'm not sure if any methods to 'escape' this really work in the long run. Accepting that these feelings hurt and they are there is really the best I can do personally. When looking back you can't change the past but if you put your energy into moving forward you can create something better.

Self-reflection can be healthy or can turn into something harmful. When considering past mistakes, shame a guilt can arise. This can be useful if it motivates one to make amends, learn to improve, and stiffen future resolve.

However, once everything useful has been extracted from shame and guilt, it can be harmful to hold on to it.

In case that you actually are not a bad person, i think that you might be turned too much on the inside.

Get a job or a hobby where you have to interact with a lot of people, almost anything goes. Keep interacting with people, watching them, reveal your weak spots to them, and sooner or later you will come across someone who is actually a bad person, not just an irrational thought.

If that doesnt set you straight i dont know what will.
