  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

Hi,
I just wanted some help figuring out whats going on for me and why?

The only time i really feel ok and the best time of the day i feel is after i wake up. Like sometimes after i wake my brain doesnt seem to work for a while. I dont really feel anything or think much at all. Im just kinda a zombie.
Like this afternoon i woke after a nap. I felt like a zombie and just stared at the wall eating dinner. Its a really good feeling to not feel/think anything.

Is this feeling real? Do other people have this? How can i replicate this? Is there something "sciency" to explain it?

Sounds like dissociation to me. It's where your brain basically checks out, due to any of several reasons: ongoing depression, a traumatic event, or feeling bored/unstimulated for a long period of time. Those are the most common. This zombie-like state is a way of life for me.

I can relate. As the above poster said, it's disassociation which I have too. I feel permanently numb and can't muster up any emotions any more. My disassociation is due to Complex PTSD. The problem is that when you disassociate from your emotions, your body expresses them instead. You end up with all sorts of psychosomatic symptoms.

Yeah sometimes I do it around other people and it scares them. Especially like (ex)friends and family

Can you give an example of these psychosomatic symptoms?

Is this feeling real?

It could be derealisation or dissociation, as MsM3talgamer said. But the feeling is real.

Yeah. I know what you mean. When I've felt very anxious and I've tried to calm down, my mind ---up to a certain point--- doesn't bug me anymore with horrible memories or feelings, but then it's my body that reacts: I've had urticaria (hives), stomach problems, etc.
