• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

had a bad case of the flu for the last week or so. been bedridden as i'm a bit frail to start with. been wondering, why do people die from the flu? and have been fantasizing about ways to make it worse so it would kill me.

been miserable. and if my jackass boss fires me for calling off work, i'm going right into that damn kitchen and coughing all over everything. and her car door handle..

A coworker has been in the hospital for about a week with the flu.
She has a compromised immune system from past cancer treatment.
She was vomiting violently, collapsed, and her husband took her to the ER. They kept her for a night, released her, but her symptoms got bad again and was taken back to the hospital.

From the web:

"The most common complication from the flu that can lead to death is a bacterial infection of the lungs, or bacterial pneumonia. ... "The bacterial infection can make it hard for children to breathe, and their lungs struggle to get enough oxygen for their body." Sepsis is another complication that can lead to death"

Didn't flu kill nearly as many people in England in 1900 and sometimes as men in WW1 or am I getting myself in a muddle?

Influenza pandemic of 1918 killed over 25 million people worldwide, I believe it was the Spanish flu

Wow. So employers could try and be a bit nice to their staff who are suffering :-(
I only had flu once and it took weeks to get well enough to get better to go back to work

I had the flu once and am diligent about getting the flu shot every year. It really is not fun!

Also, I'm not an expert, but it seems like people with compromised or underdeveloped immune systems are the most likely to die from the flu.
