Are you in education or training?
I always thought that it was illegal not to be, but apparently that is not the case. You could refuse to go college or take an apprenticeship, and they couldn't even fine you.

I don't know if it's illegal but apparently the government say you have to be education until you're 18, I don't know. I'm 19 now but when I was 16, I was in sixth form in September 2015 and I couldn't handle it. I started taking days off saying I was sick within the second week until eventually I told my head of year that I was going to do an apprenticeship. That was a total lie. I stayed home for a year and kept telling my mum I would do the apprenticeship. Would your parents do anything if you refused to go college?

They might be annoyed, but the mental health team are going to mention it to them in them mental health meeting, so they might not mind so much when the options have been discussed.
I was just told today by a mental health professional that it isn't illegal and that it's the young person's choice and that they can't be made to go.
Apparently, if you refuse further education and training, they might have a career advisor talk to you about it, but they don't really intervene. You could not do anything and there would be no consequences.
