I struggled so much with this method... have never been able to get it right until i tried this!
To practice sit up completely straight and lean your head back- this was the mistake i was making i always leaned my head forward.
now once youre in the position put your thumbs on the top of your neck and feel around for the pulse, you will find it but it can take awhile .
Next press down on the pulse on both sides and make sure youre pressing on the carotids (pulsing things) and NOT the jugular.
You will know when youre doing it right, you should experience feeling light, euphoric, tingly, and see white or black spots, most people stop right before they pass out.
You may start to hyperventilate, this is because youre trying to get oxygen into your brain. You simply need to press harder to get rid of this symptom
Now onto using a rope or whatever you want to use to CTB!
Remember do not lean your head down into the rope, keep your neck leaning up!
I find it very comfortable to roll up socks (dont fold them, after rolling they should be skinny) and put them on my carotids, this has given me the most success but you can do it without.
You should not feel any pain, you could feel some discomfort but i personally dont i just feel light and floaty. If youre not feeling any symptoms or passing out you need to lean down further but keep your neck tilted up!
If you are feeling the head exploding feeling or blood filling up face feeling you are 100% on the jugulars and NOT on the carotids, readjust and try again.
To find your carotids look for the pulsing, theyre on either side of the hyoid bone (the hard thing that goes down your neck) i find the top of my neck the easiest for me but some others find more success on the base of the neck! Just do whatever is right for you, practice is important with this method.
I hope this helps some of you out. I grew soooo frustrated with this method!
