I know this whole website is based on exit and nitschke, but I've been doing a lot of research lately and the whole problem with PAD makes me sad. i hate that people have to die with experimental or more time consuming methods because the US won't stop killing people with barbiturates. I know it's their choice to still use these methods, but it kind of sickens me. Same way with nitschke's kairos collar?? The image of the prototype really disturbs me. I guess going out mechanically is comforting to some, but the idea of engineering something for that purpose …

I don't know all the terms you are using and I lean more on pro choice (you'll be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't on here) however I'll give my two cents.

While ideal for the one who will pass away, forcing someone to have to do it for/with you is cruel to me. I wouldn't want to hurt a person who may understand what it is that I'm running from. Also, I don't know how comfortable I feel dying at the hard of someone who is willing to help take a life without any emotional response. I suppose it doesn't matter if the physician take joy or cares little for my suicidality if I'm dead, but I want to spend my time with someone who truly understands (or ideally completely alone).
