• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

George Leon Briant (1901-2005) - Find a Grave Memorial

After spending 83 years together, Louisiana's oldest married couple died within days of each other. George and Germaine Briant were married on July 20, 1921, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Orleans. Germaine, 101, died Friday in Hammond, and George, who would have turned 104 years old March 3, died Monday morning. When the Briants met, George had just returned to New Orleans from serving in France during World War I. Germaine Thibodeaux, then 17, was engaged to another man when her sister brought George home. Three months later the couple wed. During the Depression, George, who painted signs, lost his business and moved to California to find work. After a few years there, the Briants moved back to New Orleans, and George's sign business lasted 50 years. Their only child George Briant Jr. was killed at age 25 in a plane crash during the filming of a movie. Their son served as a pilot during World War II and was on leave from the Army at the time. The Briants moved to Covington in 1974 to be closer to Smith. The couple lived at Belle Maison Nursing Home in Hammond when they died. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Abbey in Covington. The arrangements are being handled by Schoen Funeral Home in Covington.
My favorite person of all time. I hope that I will be able to join him in the afterlife, it would make everything I have ever done up to this point worth it.

Congratulating George and Germaine Briant - Vote Smart

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize George and Germaine Briant, of Hammond, LA. George and Germaine were married on July 20, 1921. Having spent over 80 years together, I am proud to honor George and Germaine as Louisiana's longest married couple.

George Briant is a World War I veteran. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the French Legion of Honor due to his outstanding service to this country. Following in his father's footsteps, their son George fought in World War 11. In 1945 at the age of 25, George was killed during the filming of a movie while on leave from his military duties.

On February 14, 2003, the Briants were recognized by the Louisiana Family Forum as the longest married couple in Louisiana. A dinner was also held in honor of the Briants at the Louisiana Governor's Mansion last year. George and Germaine currently reside at Live Oak Village in Hammond, where they are often seen happily spending all of their time together.

I come to the floor of the House of Representatives today to personally commend and honor the marriage of George and Germaine Briant. They serve as living examples of life-long commitment, love, courage, and faith. Again, congratulations to George and Germaine on 80 years of marriage. I wish you a very Happy Anniversary.

Did you know him or do you just admire him?

Afterlife if one exists would complicate marital relationships plus there would be record holders for marriage length that dwarf several human lifespans.

Unless we instead merge with the monad or something after reincarnation cycle is broken or whatever

I never knew him. He is simply a person that I admire, and if life was more interesting to me, I would have liked to be more like him. But I have decided that I would like to be in the afterlife with him instead.

Why not a similar person living today?

If you are assuming that there's an afterlife where he will co inhabit with you what will you do with him?

I'm a bit socially retarded from an overprotective upbringing (the type of parent that showed up at work etc) did crappy at schools.
I feel like there is a barrier to entry when you don't have any real experience and most people think you have a "serial killer" personality.

How 'bout you?

The only people alive today I'm interested in meeting are radio hosts, and since they're scattered across the country there is no chance I'll ever meet any of them while I'm alive.

Assuming there's an afterlife, and he hasn't been reincarnated yet, I will spend my first few days there talking with him, learn wisdom and stories from him, and play cards.

If there is a barrier to me meeting him, I'll respect that. I'll wait to see him if necessary. Even if I never get to see him, it would not bother me too much. I would be completely fine either way.

Oddly specific, I take it you are a radio enthusiast.
Have you considered getting a ham radio license?
Getting in on a scene like that might point you to like-minded people.

Seems like you are lonely and a bit picky about who you associate with.

I listen to AM radio frequently and imagine myself attempting to meet the radio hosts. These are impossible scenarios and I already have my method planned for next week, so I won't have time to get a license.

I've become used to being lonely and never getting to meet the people I have only read or heard about. I've already accepted that I'm most likely never going to meet them.

I dedicate this next song to you.
Though elo 21st century man fits too

You seem to have become a spectator in your own life and for whatever reason you can't seem to change it. Given that you are going to ctb anyway why not try a few sociable things in the meantime given you want to be sociable in heaven
