Asking this question again with a little more specificity.

I'm not ready to go into an attempt knowing I'll succeed, so when I do attempt I want to be able to reassure myself. Which methods have the lowest risk of lasting damage (especially brain damage) in the event of survival? To be clear, I don't want methods with such high lethality that brain damage is unlikely. I want to know about methods that, if they DO fail, have low long-term risks.

(I know every method has some risk of brain damage just because of how death works. I just want to know the best odds.)

I don't think I'd want to play death's bookie on giving odds of least likely to cause lasting damage in event of an unsuccessful ctb attempt. I don't even think it's possible to do that. Too many variables. Aside from crashing your car, throwing yourself in front of a train, self-immolation, or firearm, all the other "popular" methods - drowning, hanging, CO, inert gas, even SN - carry with them O2 deprivation, which can definitely lead to neurological damage in the event of a failure. And any of the ones that don't (involve O2 deprivation) can still leave you mighty messed-up if they don't work out, also. Maybe VSED suits your needs best. It can still leave internal damage, though, if it, too, doesn't work out.

Idk. I think it's akin to making a fool's bet with unknown and incalculable odds if trying to bank on a certain method causing you the least harm in the event things don't go quite as planned. I understand your concern. I just don't see any way to arrive at a legitimate and reliable answer to your query. Sorry.

Yeah, that's kind of what I figured. Thanks for the response.
