It's so discouraging how difficult it is to meet someone who is willing to leave this world with you. I know, it's a tall order. It's difficult to meet someone who wants to meet you halfway - either the costs associated are too high, they're too far away, or they are still in exploratory/early planning stages. It's really dawning on me that I am probably not going to have anyone by my side while I go, and I'm questioning why it's even that important anyway. A friend who CTB'ed once said to me, "I'm sorry you're so alone. But just remember, everyone dies alone."
Obviously that's not true for those who get euthanized. But for the rest of us, it seems inevitable.
