  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I've noticed that there are big differences between different countries. For instance, psychiatric care is high-functioning in my country, but does seem to be dysfuntional in the USA. That said, I think it depends on how serious your problems are. If you are depressed because you for instance have broken up from a relationship, it's perhaps not necessary to seek help. If your depression makes it difficult or impossible for you to for instance go to school, work, take care of your home, or interact with other people, you should probably seek help and do it soon. If your depression makes you want to harm or even kill yourself, you should of course seek help as soon as possible. If you suspect that you in fact might have a bipolar depression, you must seek help. It's impossible to handle this illness on your own.

It's good to hear that you still have hope. You should definitely try to get help, as soon as possible. Maybe you'll be put off by some psychiatrists but don't give up until you find the one who suits you. Ctb is a point of no return after all, it would be the best if it stayed an option only after you've tried everything else.
I wish you good luck:)

You're not wrong per se, but one can never possibly try absolutely everything. Anti-choice types love this argument... "You never know" and "things will get better *eventually*" etc...

I definitely would give it a shot before deciding to ultimately ctb. If this fails, you can still ctb. It will always be there for you.
I've lived with mental illness for 15 years and treatment did help to some extent. I am at peace with my decision to ctb because I have exhausted every option there is for me. I'd suggest trying those options that there for you before ctbing so you'll have a clear conscious and won't think about the what ifs.
I hope whatever decision you pick will provide you with the peace you seek.

If you're asking, you should give it a shot. A good shot, and be patient both with yourself and your therapist. Start by asking your family doctor.

I would try. I'm on Wellbutrin and medical marijuana. Did it cure me? No. However, it helps me function.
It can't hurt to try. You may have to try more than one med before you find the right one.

If you haven't yet, you might as well give it a shot. Therapy, meds etc sometimes work.
