  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

What if you reach a point in life where... You've lived it. It's not your time to die yet but you're happy with the life you've lead up to this point and you think in your own mind that its time to go.

I had this discussion with my best friend once about this topic. My friend's a religious person. And from a religious perspective, suicide because you think that you have accomplished enough isn't an option. When you suicide cause you think that you lived enough is like defying God cause you decide on when to go, and not God. But from a aethist point of view, it is a viable choice but how do you know you have live the fullest if you never, completely finished your life sentance?

well its kinda like, why would you commit suicide it might get better? why not end life now while youre at peace with everything instead of waiting for a time where maybe it wont be as peaceful.

If you're an atheist, is a there a life sentence? And is living to the fullest a requirement?

I don't think this belongs in the recovery section. Sure, having as a goal to wait with CTB until you're in a happy place in life is a viable tactic, but then it's not truly recovery in my opinion. If you truly were happy, you would not be able to let go.

im not necessarily talking about being happy though. im talking about being at peace with your life and feeling like you have lived so now its your time to go. its more of a mental state of mind then an emotion or anything like that
If you're an atheist
"if...." there is no need to question what one believes. there is also no need to infer that they are lying especially since they never said they were an atheist just that it is an atheists point of view.

I'm pretty sure both @sighingspider and @GoodPersonEffed were using the generic you. "If you're an atheist" doesn't mean @sighingspider, but rather anyone who's an atheist.

I like this use of "life sentence", and it's making my brain tingle to think of an atheist thinking that way. Carry on please, @sighingspider and @GoodPersonEffed.

Idk, they didn't word it very well if that's what they meant so I don't think so. That's clearly what sightingspider meant though because they never said themselves.
