I notice most of the common practise is to obtain isopropyl nitrtite and convert it back. However, it seems to be too much hassle and not many people able to obtain lab equipment to get the temperature control and condensation effect. The most available method is to do recrystallization but I doubt it is practical to obtain a lethal amount with its terrible concentration and yield. I doubt the purity would be high enough to achieve the effect. Have anyone consider or look into melting point seperation? I did not find much information about this method. I am uncertain will it work as molten state might contained dissolved NaCl. And moreover, there is not much commercially available filter than can withstand high temperature. The temperature control is also tough as it is close to the decomposition temperature.
Any thought on purifying SN from curing salt?
