Do they not realise how royally fucked up and morally bankrupt this corrupt world is? Do they not know the food (specially in USA) is not food but chunks of slow poision laden with flavours? How the FDA approves use of "brominated oil" in sodas that causes retardation and used as a fire extinguisher? How the "education" is just indocrination in school level and then training sessions after that? Is it so hard to understand the police is not there to protect you but to control you? Is it not obvious enough that money speaks and the healthcare system wants to prolong your sickness but never mean to cure it?

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Some people do receive help; the mental health gurus have to work within the system so many, if not most, become corrupted.

This along with widespread propaganda in various forms (news, advertisements, even movies and shows) are IMO the major reasons why people today act and think as they do.

As frustrating as it is to deal with these people we also have to recognize that social conditioning is very difficult for humans or any other mammal to fight against, especially if it begins at an early age. Still I would also prefer it if everyone actually had critical thinking ability even if it meant this cancerous system would fall apart sooner.

Unfortunately it is like this almost everywhere in our globalized society and economy. Modern education in particular has its roots in the Prussian education system which is as you describe: indoctrination first and foremost then glorified job training.
