I got sick, and I have to do some exams. My mom is forcing me. Blood tests, ultrasounds, and I don't know what else. I can't put it off any longer, telling us not to spend money. I managed to hold off for two months, but she still wants me to do it.
I could spend an hour looking at my body, counting scars. I'm a scrap, a deformity, and my mom doesn't know. She only saw some small cuts once about two years ago, but she thinks I've stopped. I'm afraid the exams will require a physical examination or just have to take off my shirt.
The last time I went to get vaccinated, it was already difficult with the nurses. Does anyone know what I can do? Any better excuses to give her?

Thats a hard one even from my perspective. True most physical examinations they make you strip to your under cloths. At least here. But not always. there is a small chance you could squeak through perhaps. Maybe somebody who has been through this will comment after a bit.

I do these tests once a year, I mean full body tests for general health checkup. Cholesterol, lipids, scans,Ultrasound, etc. It's a package that I buy at a diagnostics laboratory near my house. They run all these checks. There's no way to let it go unnoticed.'Cause I had to remove my clothes for many of these tests, including the treadmill test. Where they attach electrodes to my torso and have me go up a steep incline on a treadmill.

But mine is voluntary. Since your mother is forcing you. That's a different situation altogether. I don't think there's an escape. I'll tell you what. It's better to come clean with your mother and try to not go for the test.'Cause I don't know what these medical personnel will do if they see all the scars. I'm afraid they might ask you to undergo some evaluation or worse?

I believe so, I was having some breathing problems, and getting sick very easily, so I can't say "I don't need this, let's ignore it!!". But it's long-term health, I never worried about it, but my mother... is a proud mother.

thank you. I think the option of telling her doesn't exist, but I'll think of something sincere

As someone with 20 years of self-harm scars, you're going to have to face it at some point. Better to do it now than when you getting rushed to the hospital for an emergency. I am in the US and no medical professional ever brought the scars up. If they ask, just tell them you struggled with self-harm for a long time and have been doing online support groups and working hard to overcome it.
