• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I absolutely hate my job right now, and the search for a new one is going nowhere. I have had some success disassociating specifically through daydreaming, but at most it gets me through a few minutes at a time.

If I could find a way to completely disassociate my whole shift, or at least the majority of it, I think it would make life so much more bearable. That job just makes me so depressed, i end up sleeping the rest of the day, so it's really like I spend all my waking hours there. I just want to block it out of my memory. Listening to music has also been helpful in the past, but it's customer service so I constantly have to listen to people. I know that's it's possible because a few months ago I distinctly remember disassociating for about 3-4 hours, just by staring off into the distance, and I've kind of been chasing the idea of doing it again since.

Grail it is.

Would be my impression that if people could day dream their lives it would be done with constant drug addiction, like morphine. There are moments and some longer than others where one can drift. If the chosen job/profession has such an intense darkening effect, may be time for a different trade if possible.

Christmas eve in the summer seems an impossibility to some but just another day in the tropics to others. If you are able to create a plausible schism from reality with extended disassociation and still present a functioning persona, please pass that on.

Never found the Grail myself not for lack of turning rocks over. Giving a solid hope a better way of making a living finds its way to your door.

I worked in retail for 10 years so, I really sympathise. I never mastered it unfortunately- when I became too distracted, I wasn't concentrating enough to do the job properly. A customer once noticed actually and said I didn't seem entirely with it!

What I did find that helped was to be able to chat to colleagues and customers- when that was possible. That used to distract me a bit. Also- working on the shop floor rather than standing at a till made the time go faster- if you get the freedom to choose of course.

A friend of mine used to make up a time sheet and tick off every 15 minutes! You know you're in the wrong job when it's that bad! Ironic really. At the moment, I actually need more time to do my job. I only got 4 hours sleep last night.

I hope you can escape though. Retail just felt soul destroying to me.
