  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

Recently, I am becoming more detached from myself. I don't want anything. I don't want to meet people,or do any activity. People are noticing this and even pointed me out on this. Also I am a emotional fuck-up. I get lost in my own thoughts when someone is conversing, or some other serious thing is going on..this combined with the emotional numbing is making it more worse.. people got a hint that something is wrong with me. I know that if I spend more time with them, they will come to know, so I usually spend less time with them. But , sometimes it's unavoidable. I'm not knowing how to cope.. to atleast make it appear as 'I'm okay'.. If it goes on to continue like this.. this will raise more suspicions ..
How to cope with this?

This is exactly how I am. I could have written this about myself. Sorry I don't have any words of advise as this is me in a nutshell.
My therapist tells me that I live in my head and am disconnected from my emotions. That's great an all but how do I reconnect? Pointless telling me what I already know but not how to fix it.
Again sorry I'm no help.

i don't even bother to move my mouth when family is talking to me, can't force emotions if there isn't anything inside me. so pretty much doesn't matter if i exist or not to others, because i'm completely lifeless, therefore unlovable. you can see me, but can't feel me, i'm detached from myself since childhood i think sometimes.

I think I've read of techniques where people can learn to observe their own thoughts as such. Detaching their consciousness from thoughts. Your consciousness observes them. My theory , no proof whatsoever, is that is great because it helps bring about detachment which is a coping mechanism they say. I think its even visible in brain scans as an increased physical separation between two parts of the brain, IIRC by reduced connections. But I talk a lot if crap too, especially around xmas

That sounds to be a great idea.but, I am not in a good enough mental state to try something different actually. I'm afraid I'll just get messed up even more. Thanks for your idea though.

here are three videos about numbness which can help you maybe guys, i've struggled with this feeling of not feeling more seriously for 8 years, but maybe you can still heal. third video is rather existential comedy video, first two videos offer more insight into numbness.

Sorry to see that you are struggling.. These videos are helpful. I have experienced some things mentioned in the first video when I was a kid. Though I was young , I know perfectly that no one gives a shit about me, no one has got my back..It led to more complicated things.. I have understood more from these videos

I actually wish that I could become emotionally numb as it would make my life much easier. As it is, it's impossible for me to become detached from my emotions. But this thread brings a new perspective---the grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side.
