• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I have access to a handgun. Wondering if it is good enough to get the job done reliably. Shotgun would be ideal I know but I don't have it.

probably depends on calibur. firearm suicides have i believe an 82.5% success rate which is high enough to be confident in the outcome, but making sure to hit the brainstem is what would cause death, people can live with whole chunks of brain missing!

.357 magnum or larger is probably your best bet.

It's good enough to do it but there's definitely a lot that can go wrong. It depends on different factors. I would recommend researching the topic on this forum, there's a lot of information on multiple threads.

guns are extremely reliable when you know what you are doing and with what you are doing it. bullet selection is important but... it is a violent death. nothing peaceful about this method. i even know someone who did it with a lowly cheap 22 long rifle and he succeeded. first try. this was in 1989.

I'm not into guns, but I know they're reliable if you aim right. Pretty much everything you need to know is covered in the megathread:

Shotgun, 357 or a smaller gun, you need to know how it works. Ideally you will fire it before an attempt. Any recoil or movement should be known so you can compensate. That might be why the success rate is not 100%.

Bullet placement is everything, angle of trajectory, recoil, brain functions, barrel length, time to treatment/emergency room ect. do your research thoroughly,
Low power Shotshells are made for a lot calibers now also.
Nothing but proper research will do in any method when it comes to CTD, dying is not easy whatsoever.
Slow and steady wins the race in Life or Death.

Agree, It is a violent death. I know of two instances, friends of friends, who "succeeded." I know of none who did not succeed.
