So I noticed that a lot of people here, including myself, have a hard time overcoming SI and I recently found a method which helps so I am sharing it here as I imagine it will be useful to others who are certain they want to ctb. I randomly found out while fasting due to a health problem that fasting for 1-2 days basically eliminates SI for me. If I refrain from eating for 1-2 days all anxiety and fear from SI is gone. This is what I'll use before I ctb to make it easier. Water is fine but any beverages with calories need to be restricted and of course no food would be allowed.
Here's the science behind why it works:
Fasting induces significant neurobiological changes that can affect mood and behavior, including increased endorphins, altered cortisol levels, and shifts in neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine. These changes can create a sense of calm, emotional detachment, or even euphoria, reducing fear and anxiety. In the context of suicidal individuals, this altered brain state may suppress natural survival instincts and emotional resistance to death, making it easier to act on suicidal thoughts. The reduction in fear and heightened sense of clarity or control can lead to a dangerous readiness to follow through with suicide.
