so if i go for the long drop i need a rope that

1. does not brake before your neck brakes (apparently the sweet spot is 1260 lbs)

2. preferably minimum rope stretch

my question: how can i calculate exactly which force i put on the rope when i jump/fall ?

That's because it doesn't take a physicist to comment on a thread about that. People aren't replying because they don't know the answer to your question. Can you use a physics calculation using your mass and the acceleration of gravity?

An easy answer. We don't calculate. We just do it and wait for the result. Let's take full suspension hanging as an example

You just need a rope that doesn't stretch and must be tight, not too thin. And you kick the stool below you. That's it. Simple, why use calculation when it's so complicated.

Most people want easy answer when they ask, not a bunch of mathematic (number) answer

You don't want rope that has flex is an importance and when it comes to strength.
Any "climbing rope" on amazon would be satisfactory in being strong enough. The rope has been designed for the purpose of a person climbing and where strength is there to prevent lawsuits. Length can be anywhere from 15ft to high 20s for approaching decapitation.

Is this helpful?
I think I read somewhere not all climbing ropes are strong enough to account for a large fall height.

What kind of place are you planning to do the hanging at? I'm not interested in the exact location, of course. For example, is it a bridge?

Cite source because that's nonsense. Climbing rope is made to be strong enough for falls and assuming you're not tied to the neck where it would be death.

why would i kick the stool when professional hangmen use a longdrop for a reason?

im sure people in highschool do this kind of calculation though and since the average poster here is a depressed 15 year old who listens to lil pump i thought i might give it a shot.

my highschool time is long gone, i cant remember and i couldnt find anything on the internet (maybe i googled wrong)

Greater stretch allows a dynamic rope to absorb the energy of a sudden load such as from a fall more slowly, reducing the peak force and therefore the chance of catastrophic failure.
You don't want to use a dynamic climbing rope for a long drop hanging.

Dock line from walmart works well, is silky smooth and strong.
